Email Forwarding

Email forwarding allows you to redirect email destined for your domain name to another email address. For example, maybe you want to have you@yourdomain.com redirect to you@gmail.com. This service allows you to do that, without having to setup mail hosting for the domain. It is all handled through the domain management console at the registrar. If you already have a hosting account, this is unnecessary, as this can be setup through your DirectAdmin control panel, and is by far the preferred method. Either way, it's a great branding option for your domain. No one takes a business seriously if they use their personal email address with aol.com, hotmail.com, gmail.com, etc.

Need to build end user trust?

While free SSL certificates are great to encrypt data, the one thing they lack is trust. One of the main components of an SSL certificate form a respected Certificate Authority, is the validation of the business/owner. Domain Validation is simple, and there is no verification that the person who has the domain is who they say they are. If you're transmitting any personal or financial data on your website, you need a validated certificate. We sell a variety of SSL certificates for every need, at some of the lowest prices on the web, starting at just $9.95/yr.

If you're ordering a hosting package, then you do not need this service. It can all be handled through your DirectAdmin control panel. We're of course happy to help you set it up if you need assistance. Just open a ticket.

If you are only ordering domain registration, and do not have a hosting account with us, then this service is controlled via the domain management console at the registrar. Simply click the checkbox to add email forwarding to the registration in your cart. Once your account is setup, you'll find the forwarding option in the control panel where you can configure it.

Yes. You can create a number of different Email Forwarders in your account. Additionally, you can use the "free email" to create 2 real email users. We do not recommend this service though, as it's not hosted or managed by us, and we cannot speak to the reliability of it as such. It is however useful in the case where you may want to create a "catch-all address", which allows you to redirect all email sent to *@yourdomain.com to a single destination. This is best used in combination with forwarders, so you can bounce the rest.

Email Forwarding is a free service, whether as a stand alone domain registration, or with your hosting package. Just note that some of our hosting packages do have limits on the number of domains, so you may need to upgrade from our lowest plans if you were trying to add additional domains there.

The most common use case for Email Forwarding, is if you want your email addressed to your domain, but don't want to setup email service for the domain. For example. you use you@gmail.com as your primary email, but you have a business that for whatever reason you don't have email setup. You create a forwarder for you@yourdomain.com, or maybe sales@you@yourdomain.com, and redirect that to your you@gmail.com address. Now when someone sends an email to you@yourdomain.com or sales@yourdomain.com, it would be delivered to your you@gmail.com account. You could then setup your gmail account to let you send email as one of those aliases.

Whois Privacy is an optional service to mask your identity details to the public on your domain registration. Normally, when someone does a whois command from their terminal, or via a website, it will return all of the registrant details including your name, address, phone number, & email address. These are required on every domain registration. The Whois Privacy service acts as a proxy service in front of your registration info, and shows some generic information, instead of your personal information.
